Since Georgian football became independent, the president of Georgian Football Federation has not given visit to Chiatura. This bad tradition broke by Zviad Sichinava the current president of GFF on December 4, 2010.
Vladimer Managadze the president of Imereti Regional federation was with Sichinava. According to Sichinava the main reason of this visit is to see the infrastructure development in this region. He mentioned that the most children participated in festival, which was underway in Tbilisi few time ago. As it is known, football federation begins to give license to football schools, that’s why infrastructure is paid much attention. The stadium named after Temur Maghradze is in bad condition in Chiatura and needs change, which is related to a plenty of money.
Gogi Chikviladze a head of Chiatura district in a talk with Sichinava mentioned that the regional government is ready to work with DFF for developing football infrastructure in this region. The president of federation promised the population of Chiatura that he will help them as it is possible. He visited new built mini-stadium in Chiatura, then they went to “Naguti” stadium which belongs to football school. There is being grown up new generation, but it must be mentioned that the lawn of this stadium is in the worst condition.
Sichinava promised the local population that in February Football Federation will buy special technique for lawn and they will help Chiatura also. Sichinava presented 10 balls to Chiatura football school and tee-shirts of national team to leadership of Chiatura. According to GFF president Joseph Mafsud a representative of UEFA visits to Georgia on December 16 and there will be talk about complete reconstruction of “Mikheil Meskhi” stadium. 25 000 chairs of this stadium will be removed and will be sent to several regions. GFF will present 3-4 chairs to “Temur Maghradze” stadium.
Sichinava left for Tkibuli after visiting Chiatura. He will visit some other regions in these days.
