Georgian Greco-Romanian team got gold and bronze medals in the World Championship. This Championship was held in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Zviad Pataridze (100kg) became the champion on the first day of tournament, as for Levan Kavjaradze (58kg), he got the 3rd place.
Pataridze won over 5 opponents. He defeated Akhmetkalief of Kazakhstan (3:1, Genchev of Bulgaria (6:0), Sidikov of Azerbaijan (8:0), Dubronin of Russia (5:3) and Jivanovich of Serbia (6:3).
As for Kavjaradze, vice-champion of Europe, he won over Talanbek Vulu of Kirgiz (7:0) and Melikyan of Armenia (7:2) before ¼ final. After this he lost to Kinsinger of Germany (0:8). Levan won over Rakhmatov of Uzbekistan (10:0) and Vardanian of Russia (7:0) in Repechage.
Davit Markoidze (50kg), Giorgi Kurtanidze (54kg) and Mindia Bolkvadze (63kg) also wrestled yesterday, but they could not achieved success.
Nugzar Tsurtsumia (42kg), Temur Shavadze (46kg), Irakli Tarkhnishvili (69kg), Nukri Shavadze (76kg) and Giga Kokoladze (85kg) will join the tournament on 21 August in the remaining 5 weight categories.
