The 8th round of the current tournament in Women’s Grand-Prix series III, which is under way in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), came to the end and the Georgian, Bela Khotenashvili (2514) played the first draw.

Humpy Koneru (2607) of India became the main favorite of the tournament, who won over, with white pieces, Zhao Xue (2579) of China and gained 605 points. She is a point ahead of her compatriots, Harika Dronavall (2475) and Ukrainian Katarina Lahno (2532).
September 27 is a weekend at Grand-Prix, the next parties of 9th round will be held on 28. Khotenashvili will play with white pieces against the leader Koneru, Dronavall will face Russian Alexandra Kosteniuk (2495) and Zhao will be the opponent of Lahno.
Recall, that Grand-Prix series consist of 6 stages and world’s 18 best women chess players are participating in it. Each of them will compete in four stages.
