Wrestlers Filled out the New Year Calendar

Georgian Wrestling Federation adopted calendar 2011. All those tournaments and meetings where freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers will compete are in this calendar. Some changes will be made in this calendar during the season. Now "World Sport" will write only about the wrestling plan before European Championship. Supposedly, it will not change.
Freestyle wrestling team will finish winter holidays on January 24. The team of Zaza Turmanidze will hold a 2-week meeting in the city of Armenia, Tsaghkadzor. On February 11-13, Georgian team will compete in Istanbul Grand Prix. Perhaps, the team will compete with expanded staff. After the tournament, the team will hold a meeting in Dusheti from February 18 till March 3. Main candidates who are fighting for European Championship will end up Dusheti meeting two days earlier than others and they will wrestle in Minsk on March 4-5. The capital of Belarus will host an international tournament named after Alexander Medved. On March 12-13, freestyle wrestlers will fight for World Cup in Makhachkala. Georgian team will participate in this tournament but with renewed staff. According to the decision of the federation management and coaches, those wrestlers who will compete in European Championship will not participate in Makhachkala tournament and will hold a final meeting in Dusheti on March 15-16. The second and the third teams of Georgia will wrestle at World Cup.
Greco-Roman wrestlers will start a new season with meeting. They will hold the meeting 8 days earlier than freestyle wrestlers - on January 16. Begi Darchia will take finalists and the best 3rd-placed wrestlers of Georgian Championship to Dusheti for 12 days. On January 29-30, Greco-Roman wrestlers will participate in two international tournaments of Turkey and France. According to the preliminary information, candidates of Georgian team should have been divided into two parts in order to participate in both tournaments. But we found out that the choice will be made only on Turkish variant. Georgian team will compete in the tournament named after Vehbi Emre with expanded staff. After the tournament, the team will hold a meeting in Tsaghkadzor on February 4-19. On February 25-27, the main candidates of the team will participate in international tournament in the city of Bulgaria, Burgas. After this tournament, Georgian team will hold two meetings: in Minsk on March 2-15 and in Dusheti on March 18-30.
German city Dortmund will host European Championship 2011. Freestyle champions and prize winners will be found out on March 29-30 and Greco-Roman winners - on April 2-3.
