Tomorrow the qualifying tournament of European Water Polo Championship 2014 will start at “Olympic” swimming pool. Poland, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Slovakia will be opponents of the Georgian team.

Three qualifying groups are at the first stage. Tbilisi will host matches of Group A. Switzerland will host Group B where Belarus, Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Ukraine and Moldova will play. Denmark will host Group C. Malta, Portugal, Israel, Russia, Bulgaria and Denmark will play in this group.

According to the regulations, two-two best teams of the group will pair with the seventh-twelfth teams (Spain, Romania, Croatia, Holland, Macedonia and Turkey) of European Championship. 6 teams will play at the final stage.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, will host European Championship 2014 on July 13-26. Besides the host team, 5 best teams of European Championship 2012 are allowed at the final stage: Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, Germany and Greece.

The Georgian water polo team will hold the first match against Great Britain. The match will start at 18:30 on April 4.
