Two members of Georgian National Team play in “Olimpija” Ljubljana, they won Slovenian Cup. Vladimir Boisa and Giorgi Shermadini played important role in winning this tournament. - How much important was Slovenian Cup for “Olimpija” and for you?
-“Olimpija” won this competition the 17th times, but in spite of this victory was very important. Winning this competition is goal for each clubs, that’s why we are very happy. As for me, I won Slovenian Cup the fourth times. I was injured but these matches showed that I was recovered. It was very important for me.
- This time you played longer at Cup matches than before…
- While having injury I was starting playing when match’s destiny was decided and this time I started playing in the most important moment of semi-final and in final match while I was playing “Olimpija” won “Helios” 27:5.
- You seem satisfied with your physical condition, what about the match?
- I need more freedom in attack as for defense I play as before the injury.
- After winning Cup you were the main person in celebration ceremony. You were honored to open champagne…
- “Olimpija” is my second native team. Here I feel myself at home. Fans also love me very much. I feel it. After 4-year pause when I returned in “Olimpija” spectators met me with ovation. Yesterday after winning Slovenian Cup I was given champagne and of course I opened it and soaked teammates.
- How did you celebrate victory?
- It was Sunday and everything is closed on that day in Ljubljana. We hardly found one open restaurant and celebrated victory there. We ate, drank, danced – but we did not stay for a long time. At 2 a.m. our party was ended.
- Giorgi Shermadini was quite profitable at Cup matches. Leadership of “Olimpija” supposed to be satisfied with him …
- I have close relations with President and others from managing board and I know that all of them are satisfied with Shermadini. “Olimpija” wants him to say in the club very much, but I think it won’t happen. He belongs to “Panatinaikos” by the agreement and here plays on loan. He has already proved his possibilities to “Panatinaikos” and I think they are sorry that let Shermadini to play on a loan.
- How could you estimate his playing during Cup matches?
- It must be mentioned that he has progress after my return in the club, of course it is coincidence but maybe I also did my bit in his success. Giorgi became more self-confident and being next to me gave him more stimulus. He is very good person as well as sportsman.
- Georgian fans are hopeful with others and with your tandem also at European Championship...
- We have to do our best for National Team, because we compete at European Championship first time and we have to prove to Europe our possibilities. I am happy that Slovenia is in our group, because most of my friends play there. But it must be mentioned that they have quite strong team. Everyone is happy here for such group, all of them think that Slovenian National Team will be winner – it will be psychologically difficult for us.
- What is your chance?
- It is difficult to talk about chances. We have to do our best in each match. Main thing is players to be in good physical condition. As for me I was such injured that did not play for 7 months, before play off of Slovenian Championship I will be completely recovered and then is started meeting of Georgian National Team.
