Silver start

 

Yesterday Robinzon Beglarashvili (50kg), member of the youth judo team and owner of bronze medal, won the silver medal at World championship which took place in Miami. As for Tornike Nagliashvili (50kg) and Erekle Arkhozashvili (55kg), they needed one more point to enter in top three.

World Championship started yesterday in the USA. Winners were found in 2-2 weight categories. Only boys wrestled in the name of Georgia.

Robinzon Beglarashvili won four meetings. 10 seconds were enough for Robinzon to defeat Tristan Forde of Barbados and Kainan Pires of Brazil. He defeated Mongolian Amartuvshin Bayaraa by waza-ari-yuko and Japanese Wataru Umekita by waza-ari. In the decisive fight he lost to Azerbaijan Natig Gurbanli.

Tornike Nagliashvili also lost to Gurbanli. This happened in semi-final. Before the wrestle with Azerbaijan the Georgian wrestler defeated Daniel Viera of Argentina and Kanat Seilkhan of Kazakhstan by ippon and as for Oguzhan Karaca of Turkey, he won over by yuko. In the “bronze final” Nagliashvili could not defeat Mongolian Amartuvshin Bayaraa and he took the 5th place.

Erekle Arkhozashvili lost chance to win gold-silver medal in the semi-final. He lost to Bauyrzhan Zhauyntayev of Kazakhstan. Before this he wrestled with Gavin Mogopa of Botswana, German Moritz Plafky and Uzbek Kemran Nurillayev and he won by ippon. In the final of repechage he lost to Tornike Chkadua, who wrestled in the name of Holland.

In 55 kg weight categories, Beka Natatralashvili started well - he defeated Edwin Sello of Botswana in 24 second, Andres Oliveros of Colombia by yuko, but in 1/8 final he lost to British Piter Miles and disconnected from the Championship.

Girl champion-winners of 40 and 44 weight categories were chosen but Georgian team did not have participants in these categories. Head coach Gia Tenadze took an incomplete staff in the USA. He took only five sportswomen and four of them: Mzia Beboshvili, Salome Margiani (both 48 kg), Mariam Janashvili and Guranda Shotadze (both 52 kg) will fit kimono today.

Giorgi Katsiashvili (60kg), Koba Mchedlishvili and Simon Mamardashvili (both 66kg) will wrestle today.
