Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team won 5 medals at the international tournament which was held in the city of Bulgaria, Burgas, on February 25-27. On the last day of the tournament, Archil Turmanidze and Anton Mamageishvili (both 66 kg) added their bronze medals to silver of Manuchar Kvirkvelia (74 kg) and bronzes of Soso Jabidze (96 kg) and Dimitri Javakhishvili (120 kg).
After beating Turkish Eren Serdar and Artak Magarian wrestling in the name of France, Turmanidze lost against the future champion Turkish Ozel Iuno in the semifinal. In “bronze final”, he beat Romanian Eusebiu Diakone.
Mamageishvili lost the chance of gold-silver in the semifinal after losing against Romanian Georgian Karpen. Before that, he beat Romanian Tom Hinoveanu, Belgian Emilian Todorov and Moldavian Ion Luchita. In repechage final, Mamageishvili won over Japanese Iuji Okamoto.
On February 27, Lasha Gogitadze started participation in the tournament but in the first circle, he lost against South Korean Yung-Baik Li. Soon Li lost the tournament and Georgian heavyweight sportsman was left without the chance of the final stage.
