"Torpedo" does not Fall into Pieces, on the Contrary..

Officially: Geguchadze has retired

On Tuesday, on the Chavchavadze, in headquarter "Wissol" President of the Kutaisi "Torpedo" Levan Pkhakadze took journalists. He praised last season, and then talked about plans for the future. The good news for us was that "Wissol" is going to continue to take care of the Kutaisi Club. According to a press release of the Club: the owner aims to rejuvenation "torpedo" and a change in the coaching staff.

Rejuvenation, when playing on the nose of the EuroCup? A little strange, but surely Exterminated explained: it is a risk, a bold step, but we think we made the right choice. Experienced players will remain in the team, and young will give it new strength and energy, and we will have more chance of success.

And now everything is in order:

Levan Pkhakadze:-this season we finished well. Like last year, took third place in the Championship, but in order to achieve the best result, decided to rejuvenate the team, the average age of players is 22 years, which is the main prerequisite for future success. All well remember how well made last spring at the European Championships in Slovenia, our 17-year-old footballers. They reached the semifinals and gave Georgia the greatest joy. Now they are in favour of Tbilisi "Lokomotivi “ over “Dila". We decided to translate them "Torpedo", with most of them already agreed. It is about 12-13 players. From now on, they will play in the big leagues, and this will contribute to their development. In Kutaisi will also work the Spanish team coaches "Lokomotivi Tbilisi"-Gerard Zaragoza Mulet and Alberto Berokal Corea.

In his time with Dinamo Tbilisi also has invited Spanish specialist Alex Garcia, but he was not successful.

-Agree, every decision involves a risk. However, in this case, the risk is minimal. These coaches have international experience and also well known boys. I want to say thank you so much More Geguchadze, Guram Aspindzelašvili and Dato Janelidze for good work and wish them success in their future work.

-Do you think the State should fund the clubs?

-At one time I had a project that involved the transfer of all of the clubs privately, but under the current circumstances, it is impossible to do, because there is no competitive atmosphere. Today, the State should help the clubs, and our goal is to motivate businessmen. After all the "same" Wissol went at it, private owner and Tbilisi "Dinamo" ... We must engage in this and other businessmen.

Then we asked for comment Gia Geguchadze, who was present at the press conference:

GIA Geguchadze: "Yes, I no longer am a coach" torpedo "and so far I have no invitation. Little rest and then we'll see. I today I want to thank all the players, coaches, doctors and especially the loyal fans who were rooting for us in any weather. I welcome the change and with all my heart I wish the team every success. "
