Tornike Shengelia, forward of the Georgian national team, may play at the Spanish Championship from the next season. According to the Spanish Gigantes.com, “Caja Laboral” is holding negotiations with “Brooklyn Nets” about the Georgian basketball player.

In the previous season the Georgian forward held 19 games in NBA. He had averagely 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds. Considering that “Toko” has opponents like Mirza Teletovic, Andrei Kirilenko, Reggie Evans, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, he will not have much playing time.   

“Caja Laboral” fights for high goals and will participate in Euroleague from the middle of October. In Group D the club will have the following opponents: Serb “Crvena Zvezda”, Russian “Lokomotive-Rubin”, Greek “Panathinaikos”, “Maccabi” of Israel and qualifier.

Shengelia was operated on meniscus and will start practicing in October. So, he will not be able to help the Georgian national team at EuroBasket 2013. He had averagely 13.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.6 assists and 1.1 block-shots.
