In spite of that, "Army" and "Sokhumi" participated in the central match of the 4th round, the match between "Energy Invest" and Samedicino turned out the most interesting and tense where debutant Samedicino won over current champion of the country. It is worth mentioning, that this was the first victory which the team gained at the national championship.
"Energy Invest" won the first half with 8 points difference - 37:29. The situation changed in the second half. The guests improved their play, equalized the score and then even managed to advance. As we have already mentioned, they won for the first time.
A 28-year-old Tornike Niniashvili was the best player from Samedicino. He collected 22 points and played a great role in the team's victory.
Also match between GSAU and "Batumi" turned out tense. The guests won the match. Like Samedicino, this was the first victory for "Batumi". Lasha Keshelava was the best player from "Batumi". He scored 28 points and 11 rebounds.
"World Sport" made its choice on Niniashvili who was named as the best player of the round.
- Did you expect that you would be named as the best player of the 4th round?
- It is always difficult to win in Rustavi. So, I was not sure but your decision was not a surprise for me.
- Was this victory surprise for you?
- As I have already mentioned, it is always difficult to win in Rustavi. In spite of the score, it was not clear which team would win till the 39th minute.
- Samedicino lost all matches till the 4th round. Was it the fault of fate?
- Samedicino was formed one week earlier before the start of the 20th national championship. Samedicino has good players and will be a strong team for any participant teams of Georgian national championship.
- What are the plans of your team at the current championship?
- Program minimum of Samedicino is to play in the semifinal.
- Which teams do you think are your main opponents?
- The championship has just started and I cannot name main opponents yet.
- You have been playing in Georgian national championship for a long time. What difference can you see between current and last championships?
- I have been participating in Georgian national championship for 12 years. I have won everything here. Some Georgian basketball players who were playing abroad returned to the national championship. Also number of legionaries has increased. I think, we have not had such strong championship lately.
