Georgian National Team arrived in the capital of Latvia, Riga at 15:30 local time for holding the next qualifying match of European Championship 2012. Team after some formalities stayed at “Redison” hotel and prepared for the match.

Zurab Khizanishvili a defender of “Reading” who misses this match due to two yellow cards also trained with those players at “Skonto”. In spite of this Ketsbaia took him in Latvia.
According to Lasha Dvalishvili a press speaker of Georgian Football Federation training started at 19:00 and lasted for an hour. While training Ketsbaia paid more attention to fast playing without mistakes. It is the 6th match between Georgian and Latvian National Teams, the results of the last matches are equal 2-2 wins, 1 draw, ball difference 8:8. Latvian 39-year-old Vitaly Astafjev and Georgian Kakha Kaladze played 4-4 times in the last matches. By the way Kaladze scored his only goal in national team while playing against Latvian National Team on February 6, 2008. In this match Georgian team lost 1:3, Davit Siradze could not score penalty at the end of the second half.
As for Astafjev, in spite of his age he played in each match holding by Latvian Team during this qualifying round. Since 1992 he put Latvian tee-shirt 165 times (16 goals) and according to it he is record holder in Europe.
Beside Astafjev other distinguished players in Latvian team are 31-year-old Andrejs Rubins he scored 10 times during 112 matches in first national team and J. Laizāns, who is at the same age scored 15 goals in 107matches.
