Georgian U-17 National Team beat Pole team at qualifying match of European Championship and it was quite persuasive victory. Pole players did not have any chance of scoring within 80 minutes. Georgian players also did not disturb Pole goalkeeper very much but this match was under their control. Guest should be more active in attack, but they could not manage it.
Marcin Dorna a head coach of Pole team admitted that they lost this match due to their mistakes. It seemed at the start of the first half that Pole goalkeeper and defenders could not play combine football. Due to such playing they were punished and Avto Endeladze scored goal in the empty goal 1:0. But soon when Tomas Wronski quickly ran into penalty area Nika Samdokhadze made him fall down and was set penalty. Ala Uriga performed penalty kick and 1:1.
In some minutes Bachana Arabuli used mass up among Pole defenders and scored from 10-12 meters distance 2:1. There is no doubt that Arabuli was the best player of this match. He was managing to keep a ball, assist and kick in the direction of goal… At the 68th minutes he kicked and the ball touched the goalposts.
Lukas Hufnagel was playing as a midfielder. He had some mistakes but it seems that he is talented. Georgian sport fans supported him strongly. It is worth mentioning that Georgian fans were supporting during whole match strongly and players thanked them after the match. Pole players were very inters in attack and they even could not approach to Georgian penalty area. Beside Arabuli Temur Markozashvili also was distinguished in this match. Midfielders (Sandokhadze – Kakhidze) were quite good.
After the match:
Dorna: “We made bad mistakes in defense in the first half and due to these mistakes we lost. It was quite difficult match. But to my mind we still have chance of going through the group. No.10 was distinguished in Georgian team (Arabuli). He is quite dangerous forward, he has good tactic and supposedly he is one of the best players in our group. I also liked NO.7 (Hufnagel), he was playing quite well”.
Zhorzhikashvili:“Victory is pleasant for everyone, but we know that difficult matches are ahead. My players were playing at stadium with artificial lawn and it is difficult to get use to natural lawn very quickly. To play on such lawn needs other type trainers, which are not sold in Georgia. That’s why players had difficulties doe to it during the match. As for Hufnagel, we warned him not to be nervous. It was first official match for him presenting Georgia and it could be tense for him. After Palanga Cup he suffered from injury and before arriving in Georgia he started playing in “Baiern” three days before”.
Sandokhadze : “Polandwas not weak opponent and we are glad that we won. We have quite good support from tribunes. We did our best”.
Arabuli : “I am glad and proud of that I scored in official match of Georgian National Team. Thanks a lot to fans, who were supporting us during 90 minutes. It is unimaginable feeling when you represent your country at national stadium”.
