Georgian freestyle wrestling team ended the first day of the international tournament “Takhti Cup” in Tehran with the bronze medal of Davit Kerashvili (97kg) and silver of Konstantine Khabalashvili (65kg).

On the second day of the tournament champions and prize winner were revealed in 61, 70, 86 and 125kg weight categories. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (61kg), Dimitri Basilashvili (70kg), Sandro Aminashvili (86kg) and Davit Modzmanashvili (125kg) wrestled on behalf of Georgia, but all four lost at the initial stage.

Khinchegashvili lost to Iranian Hasan Moradgaliei, Basilashvili lost to Kazakh Aslan Azizov. As for Aminashvili, he was involved from the second circle and went through the ¼ final by beating Hungarian Richard Ligst. But there he lost to Iranian Jalal Zaman. After when this last won the semifinal, the Georgian wrestler went through the semifinal of repechage, where he los tot Kazakh Ieral Abarashev.

Davit Modzmanashvili stayed beyond the “Takhti Cup” by losing to Iranian seiedahmed Rasuli.
