Tatishvili could not Overcome the First Round of Wimbledon

 

Anna Tatishvili faced another sad loss in her career. The Georgian tennis player lost to Petra Martic of Croatia 1:6, 6:1, 3:6 in the first round of Wimbledon.

The match lasted one hour and 23 minutes and Anna had a chance to win. But unfortunately, she lost because of mistakes and unluckiness.

Tatishvili had 67% on the first serve and used 55% (31 from 56). On the second serve she won 46% (13 from 28).

Anna did not serve ace and had 5 double faults (Martic had 10 aces and 6 double faults). The Georgian tennis player used 3 from 11 break-points and the Croatian – 5 from 11 breaks.

Tatishvili had 19 winners and 22 unforced errors (her opponent – 29 and 19). The Georgian won 8 points less than her opponent – 78:86.

Tatishvili lost 100 ranking points and will have regress on WTA ranking.

If Anna had defeated Martic, she would have had good chance of fighting.

No.13 seed Russian tennis player Nadia Petrova who was probable opponent of Anna lost in the first round.

Karolina Pliskova of Czech Republic defeated Petrova and will face Martic in the second round.

If Georgia had one representative in singles draw, it will have two in doubles. Besides Tatishvili, Oksana Kalashnikova will also play in doubles.

Anna and Simona Halep of Romania will play Stephanie Foretz Gacon of France and Eva Hrdinova of Czech Republic.

Kalashnikova and Jana Cepelova of Slovakia will face the American-German duet.
