Tatishvili Started Successfully in Las Vegas

 The Tournament in Telavi will Continue without the Georgian Tennis Players

 

Ana Tatishvili, Georgian tennis player, started successfully the tournament (prize fund 50 000 USD) in Las Vegas. Ana defeated American Samantha Crawford 7:5, 6:1 and she will face #4 seed Maria Sanchez in the 1/8 final. Maria won over her compatriot Chie –Yu Hsu 6:0, 5:7, 6:2.

In the doubles tournament, the tandem of Ana Tatishvili and Croatian Ayla Tomlyanovic won over American duet – Chako and Pluskota 6:2, 6:3 and in the ¼ final they will face aother American duet (Crawford – Viker).

50 thousands tournament in Telavi continues without six Georgians.

It should be noted, that only Sopo Shapatava (#8 seed) of the six representatives of Georgia has overcame the starting round. She defeated Polish Katarjina Kava 6:3, 6:2. And in the 1/8 final she lost to Japanese Misa Eguchi 3:6, 1:6.

As for Sopo Kvatsabaia, Ekaterine Gorgodze, Maka Chakhnashvili, Mariam Bolkvadze and Tamar Chalaganidze, they lost the first meetings.

The duets of Babilina Machaidze – Margalita Chichashvili and Bolkvadze – Chalaganidze stayed beyond the doubles tournament. The duet of Gorgodze and Shapatava will face Ukrainian Fomina and German Shakovets (#4 seed), and the tandem of Chakhnashvili and Kvatsabaia will face Polish – Russian duet (Kava – Lazareva).
