After the recent unsuccessful competition Anna Tatishvili lost position on the ranking. The Georgian tennis player who was in the 50th place last October is in the 82nd place with 778 points now.
In spite of such failure, Anna is still top player among the Georgians. Besides her, 6 Georgian girls are on the ranking. Oksana Kalashnikova has progress and is close to Top 300.

Tatishvili was trying to get in the main draw of the Madrid Open (4 033 254 USD) but she lost to Aravane Rezai of France in the qualifying draw. Kalashnikova has good start in the doubles of “Mutua Madrid Open”
In the first round Oksana and Latvian Liga Dekmeijere beat German Goerges and Kazakh Shvedova 7:5, 6:3. The Georgian earned 140 points. In 1/8 final Kalashnikova and Dekmeijere will play either Soler-Espinosa/Suarez Navarro (both – Spaniards) or Hsieh (Taiwan)/Peng (China).
Kalashnikova has the highest ranking from the Georgians on the ranking. She is in the 105th place with 772 points. Tatishvili is in the 110th place with 736 points. The Madrid success will advance Oksana and she will enter Top 100.
Sofia Shapatava is in Cagnes-Sur-Mer and is No.8 seed at the tournament (100 000 USD). The Georgian tennis player defeated Russian Svetlana Patakhonova 6:1, 6:0 but then lost to Tatiana Bua of Argentina 6:7 (6:8), 6:3, 3:6. In doubles Shapatava and Russian Marina Melnikova will play against the French – Hesse and Ramialison.
