No.5 seed Tatishvili played against American Julie Ditty in the 1/8 final and in spite of being beat in the first set, she won over her opponent 6:7 (4:7), 6:2, 6:3. It is worth mentioning, that Anna played against American tennis player for the fourth time and beat her for the third time.
No.1 seed Varvara Lepchenko will be opponent of Tatishvili in the 1/4 final.
Anna played against Varvara in the 1/4 final of Las Vegas tournament (50 000 USD) in October this year. Anna was beat 6:7 (5:7), 7:6 (7:5), 3:6.
Lepchenko who was born in Uzbekistan but played in the name of the USA won final matches and became champion.
In the first round of Grapevine tournament Varvara beat American Megan Falcon 6:3, 6:1. Then she won over another host Mashona Washington 6:4, 6:1.
A 24-year-old Uzbek woman is in the 87th place at Women's Tennis Association. She had the best result in October 2006 when she was in the 84th place. Tatishvili is in the 137th place. Her best result was 135th place.
