Tatishvili Ended up Participation, Kalashnikova Plays in Doubles

Georgian top seed Anna Tatishvili celebrated three victories in the qualifying draw of the Australian Open and earned 50 ranking points. Unfortunately, Anna lost the first match in the main draw.

The match against Monica Puig of Puerto Rico lasted one hour and 17 minutes and the Georgian tennis player lost 2:6, 4:6. It is worth mentioning that Anna used only one from 8 break-points. His opponent used 4 from 5 breaks.

Tatishvili did not serve ace and made 4 double faults. She had 10 winners and 23 unforced errors. Overall, Anna won 20 points (48:68) less than the Puerto Rican.

Anna is in the 126th place with 499 points in WTA ranking. Eight Georgians are in the ranking:

Oksana Kalashnikova will play in doubles draw. Kalashnikova and Irina Buryachok of Ukraine will face Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia and Samantha Stosur of Australia.

In doubles ranking Kalashnikova is in the 57th place with 1632 points. Tatishvili is in the 84th place with 1085 points. Shapatava has 382 points and is in the 178th place.
