Tatishvili Defeated Vogt

 

 

 

Another Olympic day successfully ended for Georgian delegation.  Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili beat Stefan Vogt of Liechtenstein in 58 minutes 6:2, 6:0 besides delaying the match for several times due to rain. As a result Tatishvili went through the second round, where she plays against Russian Nadya Petrova or Chinese Zhi Zheng.

The match against Vogt was renovated later when Ana was winning 6:2, 4:0 but rain sent the players to the dressing room again. Tatishvili and Vogt returned court at night with Tbilisi time. But this pause did not reflect on the game and Georgian Olympic player won the match in less than hour.
As for the statistic of the match it was the following: for the first ace 58% for Tatishvili (20 from 28), for the second ace she won 90% (18from 20). Anna had 1 ace, fouled 2 double mistakes (her opponent had 5 doubles and 1 ace) and used 5 break-point from , as for Vogt she could not use five chances. In total Tatishvili gained 63 points and Vogt 38.
As far as you know 22-year-old Tatishvili is No.84 seed with 792 points in WTA ranking. As for Vogt she is No.233 seed with 246 points. So, Anna was considered as favorite in the previous match and as a result of this success Tatishvili earned 55 points. Her future rival is quite stronger.
As it has already been mentioned, Tatishvili’s future opponent is Petrova or Zheng.  The match between then is also planned for today, but due to massed schedule, there is not left time for Russian and Chinese players. It is newsworthy that in case of winning the second round, Tatishvili earns 95 points.  
 Double match between Tatishvili-Chakhnashvili and Slovenian duet (Klepach-Srebotnik) also was delayed due to rain.
