Successful Start - Only a Half Point Is "Lost" in Two Days

Georgian women's and men's teams played well in the second round of chess tournament which takes place in the city of Russia, Khanty Mansiysk. If Georgian chess players won all 8 matches on the first day, today they only "lost" a half point.
On the first board Lela Javakhishvili (Nana Dzagnidze rested) played draw with black pieces against Jovana Jovinovic (Montenegro). Fortunately, Salome Melia, Sophiko Khukhashvili and Bela Khotenashvili won.
Current Olympic champion Georgian women's team won 3.5:05 and after 2 rounds they are among those 27 teams which have the best points.
In the 3rd round Georgian women will play against Kazakh players who also won twice but they have 6.5 points. Asians beat Trinidad and Tobacco 4:0 and Canada 2.5:1.5. The best Kazakh player is Guliskhan Nakhbayeva whose rating is 2235. In the 2nd round no favorite teams managed to win. Alisa Galiamova (2482), member of the first Russian team, was beat by Bosnian Sanja Dedijer (2055) and the hosts won 2.5:1.5.
In the first round Georgian men's team played well. Like Macedonia, they beat another member of former YUG Republic Montenegro 4:0. Baadur Jobava, Merab Gagunashvili, Mikheil Mchedlishvili and Tamaz Gelashvili won their matches.
Like Georgia, only Ukraine and Poland won all 8 matches in two days. So, these three teams are leading the tournament schedule.
Georgian men will play against Mexican players in the next round. North Americans beat Nepal 3.5:0.5 and Macedonia 3:1 in the previous rounds. Hoyos Manuel Leon (2579) is Mexican leader.
