Quite interesting meeting was held today in the conference hall of Mikheil Meskhi stadium between the representatives of Super League clubs. The event was informal, however, GFF president Zviad Sichinava and General Secretary Revaz Arveladze also attended this meeting by the request of the participants. “World Sport” already has written that almost every Georgian club have financial problems besides “Dinamo” Tbilisi and it seems that without government aid, maybe some of the teams will not be able to continue participation at the Championship this spring, and some of the teams may dissolve football players and have to play with the youth composition. This problem has been talked for a long time, but such a meeting was not held until now. Today they gathered and it is pleasant that the representatives of private clubs were also represented.
The audience spoke for about an hour and agreed to meet again tomorrow to constitute an official letter, which will be sent to the GFF, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs and to the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Gia Isiani (manager of “Dila” Gori): “I am very happy that such a friendly meeting was held at the end of the year. By the way, such thing has not happened before in Georgia. Almost every representatives of the team came and very useful conversation took place. I hope to achieve much more by helping each other. Tomorrow we will meet again to constitute an official latter and send it to GFF, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs and Prime Minister of Georgia. We must save the national Championship together.”
Lado Burduli (director and head coach of “Sioni”): “We talked about the problems. We discussed the painful issues once again and agreed to ask government their help not to make Championship break down”.
Malkhaz Kakauridze (director of “Wit Georgia”): “You know in what the sad condition are the teams of the national Championship. We cannot be continued in this way. It is good that the clubs showed solidarity and came to the meeting today. We agreed to ask the government their help. Otherwise nothing will change”.
