The Georgians Could Do Nothing in Sofia

The Georgian judokas unsuccessfully finished “European Open” in Sofia. Yesterday Giorgi Gugulashvili, Kakha Tsagareli (both 66 kg) and Shorena Sharadze (63 kg) lost the first rounds. Today other three Georgians wrestled and they also lost.

Archil Gogolashvili (90 kg) started well. He beat Batuhan Efemgil of Turkey but then lost to Aleksandar Kukolj of Serbia.

In ¼ final Irine Leonidze (+78 kg) lost to Galina Tarasova of Ukraine. Then, in repechange she lost to Tesi Savelkuls of Holland.  

Mikheil Narimanidze (100 kg) lost to Daniel Dichev of Bulgaria (2:3).

“European Open” was not in the plans of the coaching staff of the Georgian team and neither Georgian Judo Federation financed the Georgian judokas.
