Slaven Bilic head coach of Croatian National Team is glad that Jano Ananidze’s (midfielder of “Spartak” Moscow) participation in the match between Georgia and Croatia teams in Tbilisi on March 26 is doubtful.
“It is important news for us. He is player who thinks. He is 19-year-old but his talent gives him possibility to be one of the best players in Europe. I do not know how serious is his injury but we will be glad if Ananidze does not participate in this match”- stated Salven Bilic in a talk with jutarnji.hr. He does not hide that their goal is to win over Georgian National Team in Tbilisi:” we are leaving for victory there, but it will not be easy. Georgian team still has chance of going through European Championship and it is motivated rival and deserves respect. Georgians have not loose any match in qualifying round and that’s why we have to do our best in Tbilisi. We have chance to keep leadership in group. But I am sure that fighting in this group will last till the end”.
On Sunday Croatian Team had meeting in the city of Croatia, Zagreb. Players, who have already started preparation for this match stay in Sheraton Hotel. Eduardo forward of “Sahakhtar” Donetsk is also with team, Croatian football federation reported that he would not arrive in Tbilisi. But he was observed and checked and decided that he would come in Tbilisi. Luka Modric and Vedran Chorluka suffer from ankle’s injury but they will train today or tomorrow. Bilic stated the following about Modric:” some of the publications surprised me, as if Modric does not play as he used to play before. He was operated on but in spite of this his playing is stable. That’s why we expect him to be in excellent physical condition on Saturday”.
On March 25, at 15:00 o’clock Croatian team arrives in Tbilisi and will stay at Sheraton hotel. At 18:30 Croatian team is to have training at National Stadium named after Boris Paichadze. The match between Georgian and Croatian teams takes place at “Erovnuli” at 21:00 on March 26.
