Georgian team will finish the first day of Juniors and Youth World Sambo Championship with 6 medals. The championship is held at Sports Palace. 3 bronze medals are already guaranteed. In the evening 3 Georgian sportsmen will wrestle in the final.
Juniors will wrestle in 48, 60 and 75 weight classes. Giorgi Katsia (60 kg) and Shmagi Shalipashvili (75 kg) won all matches and they need only one victory to win gold medal. Leri Javakhishvili (48 kg) took the 3rd place. In the final Katsia will wrestle against Belarusian Sergei Ushivets and Shalipashvili will wrestle against Giorgi Kareli who is competing in the name of Russia.
Georgian team is also competing successfully at Youth Championship. Vakhtang Sarajishvili (82 kg) will wrestle against Ukrainian Iuri Skripal in the final. Givi Nadareishvili (48 kg) and Giorgi Tabatadze (62 kg) won bronze medals.
Today girls (age from 18 to 20) wrestled in three weight classes. Only Nino Martiashvili (65 kg) competed in the championship from Georgian team and she was beat in the first circle.
Opening ceremony of World Championship will take place at 17:00. Finals will be held after this.
