Georgian tennis player Sopo Shapatava won the right to play in the main draw of the French Open.
In the 3rd round of “Roland Garros” qualifying the Georgian overcame Australian Olivia Rogovska 3:6, 7:6, 6:3.
After losing the first set 3:6, the second set turned out to be crucial, when Shapatava managed to turn the game. The score was 3:3, when Rogovska made break – 3:4. After this the Georgian managed to mobilize and made the scored 5:5.
Finally Shapatava defeated Rogovska in tie break anyway.
In the main draw of “Roland Garros” Svetlana Kuznetsova will be the opponent of Sopo. The Russian tennis player is in the 29th place in the women ranking. Georgian – Russian counter will be held on May 26 at 13:00 Tbilisi time.
If Shapatava overcome Kuznetsova, her opponent will be the winner between Camille George and Boiana Yovanovski.
Recall that Shapatava occupies the 206th place in the World’s ranking and guarantees to hit top 200.
