Georgian tennis player Sofia Shapatava and Anastasiya Vasylyeva of Ukraine won Open GDF SUEZ de l'Isère (25 000 USD) in Grenoble.
The Georgian-Ukrainian duet celebrated three victories. Shapatava and Vasylyeva defeated Alberta Brianti of Italy and Irina Ramialison of France 6:3, 6:3, Italians Giulia Gatto-Monticone and Anastasia Grymalska 6:2, 6:1 and No.3 seed Russian-Ukrainian tandem 6:1, 6:4.
Shapatava also played in singles but she lost to Gatto-Monticone of Italy 6:3, 4:6, 4:6.
Ekaterine Gorgodze and Sofia Kvatsabaia could not overcome ¼ final of the Antalya tournament (10 000 USD). Gorgodze defeated Gabriela Talaba of Romania and Victoria Muntean of France 6:1, 6:2 and 6:2, 6:4. In ¼ final she lost to Lisa Ponomar of Germany 0:6, 2:6.
Kvatsabaia won over Julia Stamatova of Bulgaria and Christina Shakovets of Germany 6:3, 6:0 and 7:5, 6:3. In ¼ final she lost to Alyona Sotnikova of Ukraine 1:6, 0:6.
In doubles draw Kvatsabaia and Esen Kokce of Turkey lost to the Romanian duet 6:4, 3:6, 4:10. Gorgodze and Bara of Romania beat the Kazakh and the German duets 6:1, 6:3 and 6:4, 6:3. In semifinal they lost to Andrei of Romania and Pirazhenka of Belarus 5:7, 5:7.
