Sofia Shapatava continues successful participation in the Batumi tournament (Georgia, 25 000 USD). The Georgian tennis player won two matches and is through to ¼ final.

No.6 seed Shapatava defeated German opponents. She won over Christina Shakovets 6:3, 6:2 and Anna Zaja 6:2, 6:1. In ¼ final Sofia will face either No.3 seed Khromacheva of Russia or Eric of Serbia.

In the first round Zaja won over Maka Chakhnashvili 6:4, 7:5. Sofia Kvatsabaia lost to Ilona Kremen of Belarus 2:6, 3:6. Ekaterine Gorgodze could do nothing against Margarita Lazareva of Russia - 6:4, 3:6, 3:6. All three Georgians had “Wild Cards”.

In ¼ final of doubles draw Chakhnashvili and Kvatsabaia will face Gorgodze and Shapatava.
