October 12, 2012. Who could imagine, that during three years, the forwards of Georgian national team could not score even one goal? Yes, today is marked exactly three years and no one knows when the ice will be broken.
In 2010 Davit Siradze scored in the match of Latvia – Georgia, which ended – 1:1. Siradze opened the score at the 74th minute and Cauna (Latvia) equalized at the final minute.
After that day, Georgia undertook 13 matches in which the forward were unable to take the gate of opponents! In general, for these 13 meetings, team scored just 7 goals and here is a list of authors of these goals: Levan Kobiashvili, Jaba Kankava (2), Davit Targamadze, Tornike Okriashvili, Guram Kashia, Sandro Kobakhidze.
Our forwards did not really make us happy in friendly matches. Since October 12, 2011 Siradze, Levan Mchedlidze and Mate Vatsadze scored once.
Lado Dvalishvili plays as a forward mostly, who is completely cut off from his teammates. During these 3 years, Dvalishvili had no problems in “Makabi”, “Polonia” and “Legia”, but he cannot score for the national team. He opens, works a lot, he often fools corner and penalties to his opponents, but he is a forward of penalty area. And it is difficult for the team to deliver the ball there.
One more thing also should be mentioned: in the current qualifying Georgia is in the 50th place with the number of goals among 52 teams. We are only ahead of San-Marino (one goal) and Andorra (no goals).
