Georgia Started Team Championship by Beating Russia

The Georgian junior judo team celebrated the first victory at World Team Championship which is under way in Ljubljana. The Georgians are through ¼ final. The team of Gia Gugava defeated Russia 3:2. Gela Kelikhashvili (66 kg), Ushangi Margiani (81 kg) and Beka Gviniashvili (90 kg) won their fights. Levan Gugava (73 kg) and Giorgi Zakariadze (+100 kg) lost.

According to the preliminary information, 8 countries were to participate in the team championship but organizers increased their number up to 16.

In ¼ final Georgia will face Mongolia which beat Australia in the first round. Suppose rivals of semifinal are: Slovenia, Brazil, Algeria and Ukraine.
