Viktor Sanikidze, one of the leaders of Georgian basketball team, is very close to move to “Unics” Kazan. According to Sportando.com, there is nothing left to sign a contract between the Russian club and the Georgian.

Recall that, in the last season Sanikidze played for “Zaragoza” Spain and averaged 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 block-shots.

Another Spanish clubs – “Valencia” and “Unicaja” wanted Sanikidze, however the offer of “Unics” became more real.

In the next season “Unics” will participate in VTB-League, in order to get through to the group stage of Euro league they have to pass the qualifying draw, where there first opponent will be Polish “Zielona Gora”.

For instance, “Unics” will start preparation for the new season on August 10, when the basketball players pass the medical examination.

Recall that the qualifying tournament of the European Championship 2015 starts on the same day. This means that Sanikidze and other players of “Unics” (Russians – Sokolov, Likhodey and Antipov and Greeks – Kaymakoglu and Vuiukas) will join the team later.
