The number of the Georgian football players has decreased in Russian Premier League recently. Only Saba Kvirkvelia is in “Rubin” Kazan and Jano Ananidze in “Spartak” Moscow. There was time when Russian Premier League was full of the Georgian legionaries.
Some Russian clubs had two or more Georgian players. Otar Martsvaladze, Nukri Revishvili and Aleko Amisulashvili were in “Krasnodar” but they were dismissed.
Martsvaladze told “World Sport” they did everything good to “Krasnodar” and they were dismissed due to the nationality.
Do you remember “Volga” Nizhny Novgorod? It is a merit of the Georgians that this club played in Premier League. Today there is no Georgian in ”Volga”.
Lasha Gvalia was dismissed from “Ural”. “Krylia” of Aleko Amisulashvili relegated and the Georgian went to “Inter” Baku. “Anzhi” of Gia Grigalava also relegated. Akaki Khubutia was a leader of “Mordovia”. He got in symbolic team of the round many times and was named the best defender of the month. “Mordovia” promoted to Premier League and the contract was not extended with the Georgian.
Nobody believed that Kenia was greeted badly in “Zenit” but the same happened to Hulk of Brazil. Later Italian coach Luciano Spalletti also complained about it.
Last summer, winter and this summer rumor had it the transfers of the Georgian football players to Russian Premier League but in vain.
Bad result of the Georgian national team has influence on it.
The Georgian football players are not in demand in Russian Premier League anymore.
Perhaps, it will be a lesson for the Georgian football players and they will probably go to Europe. It is a tough way but it is worth it. Russia is attracted because of money, nothing else: frozen fields, racist remarks, exhausting flight and so on.
The clubs had no progress at European tournaments in the last 4-5 years. It has influence on the national team too. Even Fabio Capello cannot help it and Mehdi Slimane ousted them from the championship.
