The second day of European Championship turned out quite tense. Representatives of Georgia and Russia wrestled against each other in semifinal of both weight classes. In 55kg Giorgi Edisherashvili of Georgia beat Pedekov of Russia and won a right to wrestle in final. As for 60kg, Vladimer Khinchegashvili, member of the Georgian team, lost to Opan Sat of Russia and will wrestle for bronze medal.
Rezo Mindorashvili (head coach of the Georgian freestyle wrestling team): “Unfortunately, we lost in 60kg. It can be said that color of the ball decided the fate of the fight and the representative of the Russian team gained advantage. Loss of Khinchegashvili may be explained with tiredness because he had to hold three fights in short time. As for 55kg, Giorgi Edisherashvili beat his opponent and won a right to wrestle in the final”.
In the final Edisherashvili will wrestle against Vladislav Andreev of Belarus. Opponent of Khinchegashvili is not known yet.
