Chance of the Georgians in the Last Round

The international tournament is coming to an end in the city of India, Hyderabad. Levan Pantsulaia has a chance to win a medal. He earned 7.5 points and is in the second place.

In the 10th round Pantsulaia defeated Murali Karthikeyan of India (2444) and is 0.5 point behind leader Sethuraman (2553).

Other Georgian chess players celebrated victories in the previous round. Merab Gagunashvili beat Bahruz Rzayev of Azerbaijan (2446). Tornike Sanikidze won over Thejkumar of India (2452).

The Georgians have 7-7 points and are in the 5th and 9th places.

In the last round Gagunashvili will face Sethuraman, Pantsulaia – Ivan Popov of Russia (2652) and Sanikidze – Santosh Gujrathi Vidit of India (2582).
