The Georgian Wrestlers Lost Both Finals

The Georgian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams finished the first day of “European Nations Cup” without a loss. None of the teams managed to win on the second day.

The Greco-Romans wrestled Turkey in the final. At first the Georgians advanced with two points – 3:1. Nika Tsetskhladze (55 kg) lost to Serif Kilic (0:8). Tornike Turkishvili (60 kg), Sachino Davitaia (66 kg) and Zurab Datunashvili (74 kg) won their fights.

The Georgians needed one victory but… Revaz Nadareishvili (84 kg) lost to Ahmet Ildirim. Vasil Imerlishvili (96 kg) also lost to Cenk Ildem and heavyweight Levan Arabuli – to 35-year-old Giuzel Atila (0:2 0:3). The team of Otar Tatishvili won silver medal.  

The Georgian freestyle wrestling team was considered as a favorite. The team of Revaz Mindorashvili wrestled Russia in final. The Russian team did not have a participant in heavyweight category. The Georgians started the final 1:0. One of the leaders Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg) did not wrestle.

Giorgi Edisherashvili (55 kg) beat Bazar Zalsapov (4:0, 3:4) and the score became 2:0. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (60 kg) won over Temur Pestarev (7:0) in two minutes. The team of Mindorashvili approached the title of champion – 3:0.  

The Russians needed to win all four fights. Unfortunately, it happened – Levan Kelekhsashvili (66 kg) lost to Soslan Ramonov 0:7, Giorgi Marsagishvili (74 kg) – to Atsamaz Sanakoev (2:10), Sandro Aminashvili (84 kg) – to Soslan Khtsoev (0:8). In the decisive fight Elizbar Odikadze (96 kg) lost to Batraz Gazaev – 6:7.
