Arabic Fiasco of the Georgian Chess Players

World Youth Chess Championship has finished unsuccessfully for the Georgian chess players. Al Ain, the city of the United Arab Emirates, hosted the tournament.

23 Georgian chess players participated in the tournament. Only two of them managed to get in Top 20. At U-10 girls championship Tamar Esadze took the 16th place with 7.5 points and at U-16 – Mariam Choladze took the 14th place with 7.0 points.

11 rounds were held at World Championship. The Indian and the Chinese team had the best results. They won 3-3 gold medals. Russia, Iran, the USA, Canada, Greece and Armenia had one winner.
