Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) won silver medal at Paris Grand Slam. The current champion of Europe who was No.1 seed at the tournament lost the final to Boldbaatar Ganbat of Mongolia.
Before the final Papinashvili won over four opponents. He defeated Juan Postigos of Peru by yuko, Adrien Raymond of France, Ilgar Mushkiyev of Azerbaijan and Ming Yen Tsai of Taiwan.
Lukhum Chkhvimiani also wrestled in this weight category. He beat Mohamed Elhadi of Libya 3:1 and Dilmer Calle of Peru. In 1/8 final the Georgian lost to Kherlen Ganbold of Mongolia.
Today champions and prize winners were found out in 66 and 73 kg. Mikhail Pulyaev won gold medal in 66 kg and Gui-Man Bang of South Korea – in 73 kg. The Georgian team did not participants in these weight categories.
Avtandil Chrikishvili, Ushangi Margiani (both 81 kg), Varlam Liparteliani, Beka Gviniashvili (90 kg), Aleksandre Mskhaladze (100 kg), Adam Okruashvili and Levan Matiashvili (+100 kg) will wrestle tomorrow.
The preliminary round will start at 12:00 Tbilisi time.
