Spanish “Zaragoza” of Giorgi Shermadini and Viktor Sanikidze suffered the second failure at the 2nd stage of Euro Cup and going through the 1/8 final will be very difficult.
Spanish club visited “Besiktas” in Istanbul and lost 63:70.
Both Georgians were in starting five and had the best coefficient too: Sanikidze – 18 and Shermadini – 14.
Viktor spent 29:08 minutes on the arena and gained 9 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and besides he had no turnovers. Georgian forward scored 3 2 points of 6, 1 3 points of 2 and got 2 personal fouls.
As for Shermadini, he gained 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block-shot in 25:00 minutes. He scored 2 2 points of 6 and all four free throws.
“Besiktas” celebrated the 2nd victory and is leading the P group. “Zaragoza” is in the last place with 2 losses. The Georgian’s club will have another Euro Cup meeting on January 21 against Lithuanian “Lietovos Rytas”.
