Georgians at the American Tournaments

 

Three Georgian chess players – Mariam Danelia (2219), Giorgi Margvelashvili (2556) and Tamaz Gelashvili (2590) participated in the international tournaments in Dallas (USA).

Excellent game of Mariam Danelia was particularly noteworthy in Masters Competition. Alexander Landerman (2537), American grandmaster, took the first place with 8.5 points, the second was Tamaz Gelashvili with 8 points. Danelia was the 3rd with 5 points.

In parallel with Masters Competition was held also Grandmaster Tournament, where participated Giorgi Margvelashvili. He took the 5th place with 5 points.

Levan Bregadze (2396), international master, completed the tournament in Saint-Louis (USA) in the 3rd place. The tournament was held in a circular system, there were 9 rounds and 10 chess players of 5 countries participated in it.

Andrey Gorovits (Belarus, 2480) took the first place with 7.5 points of 9, then was Angelo Yung (Philippines, 2311), Levan Bregadze (2396) and Sean Wibert (USA, 2318) shared 3rd and 4th places with 5.5 points.
