The Success of Georgian Arm-Wrestlers at European Championship

 

 

The members of Georgian national and youth arm-wrestling team achieved a success at European championship in Vilnius and in total they gained 22 medals.

Genadi Kvikvinia (110kg) many times champion of Europe and World again became champion among seniors. Kvikvinia proved once again that, he is in the best in the continent. In the final fight (among the left-handers) Kvikvinia beat Ukrainian Sergey Tokarev and became champion. 

Aleksi Abutize became champion in 70 kg weight categories among the senios, Gela Arabuli (60kg) and Vilen Gabrava (65kg) won silver medals. Vilen Gabrava (65kg, the left-hand), Koba Mamamtavrishvili (70kg), Zaza Tabagari (75kg), Aleksi Pretsuashvili (60kg) and Racho Gakharia (100kg) took the third places. 

Valeri Meladze (80kg) gained a gold medal in U-18; Guram Abulashvili took the first place in left-handers and the second place among right--handers. 

Imdea Chincharauli (55kg) lost the decisive fiht in U-21, Nikoloz Tsereteku gained a gold medal with a right-hand and a bronze medal with a left-hand. It is remarkable that, Besik Lekiashvili gained a bronze medal among physically disabled sportsmen.

In total, Georgians took 7 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals both in left-hand as well as in righ-hand in all weight categories.
