After 4 rounds of the Warsaw team chess Championship, the Georgian delegation is the only who had not defeated either in the women’s or in men’s tournaments.
The 4th round of the current Championship was more successful for the Georgian women’s team (#3 seed). They defeated the team of Serbia (#12 seed) 3.5:0.5.
Meri Arabidze (2374), Bela Khotenashvili (2524) and Lela Javakhishvili (2423) won their parties, and Nana Dzagnidze (2556) played draw.
In a result, Georgian women gained 7.0 points and moved to the 3rd place. Poland and Ukraine are leaders with 8.0 – 8.0 points.
French team is a leader of the men’s tournament with maximum number of points, then 8 teams are followed with 6.0-6.0 points and among them is also Georgia. The Georgian men’s team (#14 seed) faced Greek team (#15 seed) and played draw.
Baadur Jobava (2695) celebrated the victory, Merab Gagunashvili (2556) lost, Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2631) and Levan Pantsulaia (2595) played draws.
