The Georgian women’s tennis team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:0 in Group II of Euro-African at Fed Cup. The Georgians took the first place in Group B.
On the third day of the tournament Ekaterine Gorgodze (world No.376) beat Anita Husaric (659) 7:5, 6:2.
Sofia Shapatava (No.200) won over Jasmina Tinjic (No.252) 6:4, 6:2. In doubles Shapatava and Oksana Kalashnikova were losing to Husaric and Tinjic 1:2 when the opponents retired.
In Group B the Georgian team took the first place and will play Finland in semifinal. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Liechtenstein will play in the second semifinal. Finalists will play in Group I next year.
