One of the best clubs of National Championship sport club of Ministry of Interior Affairs is having preparation for 2010-2011 basketball seasons in Adjara. In the 19th National Championship club went through the semi final and finaly took the 4th place. Before starting of new season sport club of the Ministry of Interion Affairs transferred Davit (“velura”) Barbakadze (TSU), Besik Lezhava (“Batumi”), Davit Dekanoidze (“Dinamo”) and Davit Imnadze (“Batumi”). From the old staff are left the following players: Giorgi Markoishvili, Lado Sukhishvili, Lekso Lapanashvili, Giorgi Nikoladze, Soso Shermadini, Zura Korkotadze, Levan Mikaberidze, Dato and Iraklu Berishvili. Srgo Atuashvilui, Vano Abuladze, Vasil Beruashvili, Giorgi Kvelashvili and Shota Pataraia left club.
Now, we offer you interview with Archil Zhgenti the head coach of sport club of Ministry of Interior Affairs which he gave to “World Sport”.
- Where is your team having training exactly?
- In Gonio, we are staying at hotel of Ministry of Interior Affairs. Here we have all the necessary conditions for normal training. We have training twice a day.
- Have you played control matches during training?
- We played against vice-champion TSU, which is having training in the city of Georgia, Batumi. We hold match in “Batumi” basketball gym and we won over them with 25 points difference 83:61. If they have wish again we will play against them once more.
- When your meeting is to end?
- On September 28 leave for Tbilisi.
- Which team is considered as a strong rival in National Championship?
- My team is still the best team.
- What is your goal for the 20th National Championship?
- We will start each match for winning and other will be shown in the future.
- How will you estimate the playing of our National Team in qualifying round of European Championship?
- It is good that everything ended well and we will play in the final round of European Championship in 2011.
- Have you watched Georgia-Belgium match?
- At this time I was in Greece, where was being held seminar for coaches and U-15 basketball camp.
- Please, say us all the details about camp.
- Nearby Thessaloniki was hosted this training camp. U-15 three Georgian players were with me, those are the following: Nugzar Abuladze, Beka Darakhevlidze and Sandro Bolkvadze. Players were playing in different teams. In the morning was holing seminars for coaches and in the evening players were playing basketball.
- How many countries’ reps were in Greece?
- There were representatives from 10 countries, my team took the 2nd place and the first place was taken by team which coach was Serbian.
