A Chance of Revenge over Portugal

The Georgian sevens rugby team will fight for the fifth place at the final stage of European Grand Prix. Nobody thought that the Georgians would have achieved such success in Bucharest.

Our team arrived in Romania without legionaries (Bidzina Samkharadze who plays in Romania is an exception). These boys proved that they can play well.

Georgia faced Germany which defeated Scotland, Spain and Ukraine in the group and took the third place. The Georgians started bad. The Germans scored try-conversion but soon the Georgians gained advantage. Shavleg Makharashvili scored try but missed conversion. The first half ended up 5:7.

At the 10th minute the Georgians advanced. Giorgi Kalmakhelidze scored try but Makharashvili missed conversion again.

At the 13th minute Levan Gogolashvili scored try. At the end of the match Dzneladze scored try. Dimitri Kalandadze used one from two conversions and the Georgians won 22:7.

The match of V place will start at 18:05. Georgia will face Portugal which defeated us 7:0 in the group.
