The First Georgian Medal in Utrecht- Gold

 

The member of the youthful national team of Georgia on judo, the champion of Europe of 2012 to Erekle Arkhozashvili (55 kg) became the champion of a youth Olympic festival passing in the Dutch Utrecht. The Georgian judoka acting in weight category to 55 kg, won five fights on tournament. In the first circle it overcame Belarusian Maxim Leshik thanks to two yoko, Turk Abdulatif Kopuz threw on wazari twice, to Italian Elios Mantsi in 32 seconds made yoko, wazari and ippon, the representative of Holland to Tornike Chkadua passed due to smaller quantity the prevention, and in the ending in 46 seconds consulted from British Peter Milsom.

In weight category to Niko Chikaidze's 50 kg there was no one victory to win a medal. In the first fight he won against the Ukrainian Artem Martirosyan thanks to yoko and to two wazari, and in a quarterfinal conceded to the Dutch to Metis van Harten according to preventions. In a semi-final repechage it on the second minute was quit with Armenian Edvard Grigoryan, but in the bronze ending already itself lost to Turk Oguzan Karache two wazari.

Today on the Utrecht tatami there was also Salome Margiani (48 kg), but she in the first circle lost to Bulgarian Benit Temelkov.
