Football scandal occurred in Finland. This scandal also refers to Georgian football player. Finnish police arrested six foreign players and 4 of them are from “RoPS”. A 23-year-old Georgian midfielder Pavle Khorguashvili is among these players. The reason of detention is participation in corruptive matches.

Valter Khorguashvili, twin of Pavle, also plays for “RoPS” but he is not involved in this case. “RoPS” was in the second league last year. The club took the first place and now competes in Supreme League.

It is worth mentioning that citizen of Malaysia was arrested in Finland. He was charged with participation in corruptive matches. After this, six players were arrested.

It is about 10 matches of previous Finnish Championship.

Words of English John Allen, head coach of the team, are cited on the website of “RoPS”:

“We continue preparation, though, situation is difficult. We will hold match against “Vaasa” on Saturday and lack of 4 players is a great loss for us. Police has not told me anything. We should continue working like nothing has happened. It is difficult”.

Iuko Kiistala, general director of the club, does not state anything important. Issue of Khorguashvili and other 5 players will be discussed on Friday.

It did not happen in “RoPS” for the first time – last year Zambian player Christopher Musonda was arrested with the same charge.
