Papinashvili Reached the Gold

Georgian judo team member Amiran Papinashvili won four meetings at the Parisian Grand Slam and went through the final. No.1 seed Georgian was involved at the French tournament from the second circle and won over Juan Postigo of Peru by Yuko. He beat other opponents: French Adrien Raymond, Azerbaijani Ilgar Mushkiev and Ming Ien Tsai of Taiwan by Ippon. In the final he will compete with Mongolian Boldbaatar Ganbat.

Another Georgian wrestler Lukhum Chkhvimiani (60kg) lost to Mongolian Kherlan Ganbold in the 1/8 final. Before losing, he overcame Libyan Mohamed Elhad Elkavisahisa and Peruvian Dilmer Kale.

Today the medals will be awarded in 66 and 73kg weight classes. In these weights Georgian did not have participants.
