Papinashvili is in the Final, Rekhviashvili is the Repechage Final

 

The member of Georgian national judo team Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) beat three opponents on prestigious tournament which is underway in Moscow - "Grand Slam" and as a result went through the final.

The lightest member of team Iraklia Uznadze is seeded at the first number and began competition with the second circle in which the ippon overcame Dutch Zheron Mooren. Also with ippon he passed Azerbaijani Ilgar Mushkiyev, and in a semi-final won against Armenian Hovhaness Davtyan on one wazari and yoko.

And acting in weight category Zebeda Rekhviashvili (73 kg) will fight for bronze. He lost chance to win a medal of higher test in a quarterfinal, having lost because of the doubtful decision of the judge to Belgian Dirk Van Tichelta. Before this fight he won against Russian Murat Kodzokova on wazari, and Brazilian Marcelo Kontini – ippon.

In a semi-final of a consolatory stage the Georgian judoka in 4 minutes finished with American Nicklas Delpopolo.

Papinashvili in the ending will meet Brazilian Felipe Kitaday, and Mongol Tsagaanbaatar Hashbaatar will be opponent Rekhviashvili in fight for bronze.

Today on "Grand Slam" Shalva Kardava and Tristan Peikrishvili (both 66 kg) wrestled too, but both of them lost at the initial stage.
