Paikidze Won Russian Championship

The 60th Russian Championship which was held in Saint Petersburg ended with triumph victory of Georgian Nazi Apakidze (rating 2346).

Paikidze won 6 matches, drew two and lost only once with Svetlana Mtveva (2379) during 9 rounds. Finally, Svetlana Matveeva took the 5th place.
The 8th round was decisive for finding out the champion of this tournament. Nazi beat Elena Zaiac of Russia (2398) with black pieces. In the last round for getting champion was enough even drew and she drew Tatiana Shadria (2374) of Russia at the 12th move.
Finally, Paikidze collected 7.0 points and was ahead with half point to Olga Giria and Shadrina of Russia.
Six best chess players of Russia did not participate in this championship. They will play in super final. It is obscure if they let Georgian Paikidze play in the decisive round.
