Paikidze Took the 12th Place

At World Championship which was held in the capital of Russia, Moscow, in blitz Georgian chess player Nazi Paikidze (2376) collected 12.5 from 30 points and took the 12th place among 16 finalists.
The tournament included three rounds. Paikidze who is a winner of Supreme League of Russian Chess Championship, played in the final with personal invitation.
The final matches were held during two days. In the first 15 rounds Nazi collected 5.0 points. She played better on the second day and collected another 7.5 points. Thanks to this result, Georgian player overcame Almira Skripchenko of France (2464, 12.5 points), Irina Krush of the USA (2490, 12.0), Ukrainian Natalia Zhukova (2499, 10.5) and Russian Vera Nebolshina (2360, 9.5).
A 2-time European champion (2005, 2008) Ukrainian Katerina Lahno (2539) won World Championship. Russian Tatiana Kosintseva (2573), a 2-time European champion (2007, 2009) and Russian Valentina Gunina (2465) took the 2nd and the 3rd places.
